It’s time for the backyard BBQ’s, hitting the pool, trips to the mountains or the coast to cool off, and that long awaited vacation. It is also time for our M2M team to prepare to head off to Mexico and serve with Welcome Home Outreach Ministries. And it’s time for our youth and children to go to Summer Camp where they will hear about the love of Jesus Christ and be encouraged to take that next step in their relationship with Him.
A highlight of this month will be our Vacation Bible School here at Fourth Street. Elaine Neff, Michelle Anderson and Mikki Anderson have stepped out and taken on the task of being the Captain’s of the ship. They, along with many other volunteer Shipmates, have been planning and organizing the week long activity, and it’s going to be great time!
Each evening between June 20th and the 24th, from 6:30 to 8:30 our campus will be covered with kids heading off on an adventure like no other, deep within the mysterious sea. They will dive deep and be SUBMERGED in God’s Word, Finding Truth Below the Surface. They will discover that Jesus didn’t just see what’s on the outside of people. He looked deep down on the inside.
I am really excited about this happening here at Fourth Street Church of God, and I want to encourage everyone to be praying for Elaine, Michelle, Mikki, their Shipmates that have recruited to help out and especially the children that will be touched by this event. We have a strong Children’s Ministry and this will add to it.
Be praying for everyone involved, and get involved yourself. Come out and show your support and encouragement to the workers and be aware of the many people who will be dropping off and picking up the kids who are here for the VBS. These are guest that God is sending us, help them to feel welcome.
Also, be sure to thank Elaine, Michelle, Mikki and the many volunteers who are giving of their time, talents and treasures as they strive to make this event all that God would have it be.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Peace and Blessing,
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalm 139:23-24 (HCSB)
