Have a Blessed Christmas!!

When I was growing up, Christmas was always a special time in our house. Some of the most pleasant memories I have from my childhood center around Christmas. And Christmas dinner was always special.

My mother would always start preparing many weeks in advance for the house full of guests that would be coming to celebrate with us. She would make all kinds of cookies, pies and other goodies for the special meal. Even though we were anything but a wealthy family, we were going ‘to do Christmas’ and that meant a great dinner. There may not have been much under the tree, but there was always a feast on the table. And no one ever left the table hungry.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we have something even better to share with our friends and family. The celebration of Christmas gives us the opportunity to make this season a spiritual feasting time. It is a great time for us to gather together with and to share with others the Good News of Jesus Christ and His love for us, the greatest Gift of all.

It was because God loved us so much that He sent His Son to be born in that manger so many years ago. As a Church Family we will celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior on Christmas Eve at 5:00. So mark your calendar and plan on being here.

May this Christmas season be a reminder not only that Jesus came, but also that He died and rose again, and that He is still with us everywhere we go and in everything we do. I pray that you have a truly blessed Christmas season as you prepare for the coming of our Lord and King!

Peace and Blessing

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. …he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” …When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” …After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished. Luke 2:9-18 (NLT)
