How would you describe someone who was said to be fully committed to whatever activity they were involved in? Or maybe you can think of a time where you were fully committed to some activity or event. What was it like? How would you describe it?
When I sat and thought about that question, I thought of being passionate, so passionate about what I was doing that nothing else seemed to matter. Time flies by without notice. And at the end of it, you’re more energized than you were before. You walk away with a new confidence and more optimism than before. You have a sense of a job well done.
Well, I want you to know that those same emotions are possible when it comes to being fully committed in your Christian walk. You can experience all of these things on a regular basis as you live your life as a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. It’s the power of a committed life. So this month, beginning on March 16th, we are going to start a new sermon series that I am really excited about. In this four week series leading up to Palm Sunday, we will look at the power of a fully committed life.
It is my prayer that this series will help us to become even more passionate about our walk with God than we have ever been before. Our key verse for the series will be from 2 Chronicles 16:9 — The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
2 Chronicles 16:9 (NLT)
This verse tells us that God is looking for people who are fully committed, who are passionate about following Him. He is looking for them so that He can strengthen them. So plan to join us as we seek to become fully committed in our walk with God, in our church, with our friends and in our community.
Peace and Blessing,
